Nestled right in the middle of Mangonui harbour, close to historic villages, restaurants and cafes, galleries and gift shops, beaches and water activities. Number3 is a great staging point for exploring further north to Ninety Mile Beach, Cape Reinga and surrounding areas such as Spirits Bay.

Take an early morning walk to our own island beach and historic reserve before coffee on the deck or venture to Coopers, Cable or Taipa beaches a short drive away. Taupo Bay and the Karikari Peninsula beaches are also close by.

You’ll be spoilt for choice for dining. Try the Thai Mangonui, the Remarkables Café and Restaurant, Jesse’s or the Mangonui Wine and Whiskey bar. There is always Fish and Chips available in Mangonui and a parrot in the pub!

If you like birds, bring your binoculars and field guide. Our seabird population is always on the move. Royal Spoonbills, Oyster Catchers, Dotterels, Gotwits, Pied Stilts and many more.

With the shallow harbour on our doorstep and many beaches so close, it’s a perfect destination for water fun, charter boat fishing, kayaking and SUP. There are also 2 golf courses within 20 minutes drive.
